Innovation Exchange launches Next Practice Programme

iesmall.jpgKevin Brennan, Minister for the Third Sector has launched the Innovation Exchange’s Next Practice Programme. The Programme will support and showcase the best in third sector innovation. Fourteen projects working across the issues of independent living and excluded young people will receive support packages that can include expert consultancy and a share of a £200k NESTA Innovation Exchange Fund.

The Innovation Exchange was established by the Office of the Third Sector in 2007 as part of Partnership in Public Services: an action plan for third sector involvement. It aims to provide third sector innovators with access to the people and potential capital they need to become more involved in public services. OTS has invested over £1 million over three years in the pilot project.

Innovation Exchange has created its Next Practice Programme to help third sector organisations to develop, evaluate and grow innovative products and services and to encourage investors and public sector commissioners to support them. The challenge for participants is to move beyond best practice to next practice – developing solutions to the toughest unsolved problems.
