State of the Sector Panel closes

After four years the State of the Sector Panel is to end. We would like to thank all panel members who took part in the survey. With four years of data now available, we will be publishing a series of four reports this year outlining some of the key findings.

The State of the Sector Panel began in 2003 and was an innovative project from which much has been learned. After considering our means of evidencing the third sector the time is now right to end the State of the Sector Panel survey. We would like to sincerely thank all of the organisations who took part and gave up their time to help us better understand the sector.

This year we will be publishing a series of four reports outlining some of the key findings from the survey. The reports will be on the following:

We are committed to continuing to build the evidence base on and for the third sector. With partners we are investing in a £10.25m Centre for Third Sector Research which will begin work this autumn. In July we will also be commissioning a new survey of third sector organisations which will run this autumn and again in 2010 as part of the Local Government Performance Framework.
