On 5th February 2008 the Office of the Third Sector and the Department of Communities and Local Government held a joint conference; Strengthening Communities: Partners in Action.
The event was the first of its kind, aiming to give delegates from the third sector and local government an opportunity to learn more about how the Government is taking forward recommendations around strengthening communities. We piloted the use of interactive technology to capture views from delegates on implementing policies on local partnership working and community anchors.
Throughout the day delegates used our interactive technology to contribute questions to Ministers and other speakers which were fed through in real time; to respond to the workshops, and to complete a survey about their views.
The two workshops were on the topics of Real partnerships at the local level and Developing community anchors. Delegates worked at tables facilitated by a host from one of the Government Offices to contribute their views. Ministers discussed themes and answered questions raised by delegates.
