Measuring a thriving local third sector – tenders invited
The Office of the Third Sector is seeking to commission feasibility and
development work to recommend indicators and measures of a thriving local
third sector, and of the quality of funding relationships and consultation
between the sector and local statutory bodies.
The work will address both the choice of suitable indicators and measures,
and the proposed methodology for measuring these, and contain specific
proposals relating to the design of a bespoke survey of third sector
organisations.
The first phase of this work will explore, evaluate and recommend possible
indicators, and develop suitable questions and measures. A major part of
this phase will be to recommend robust methodology for a survey of third
sector organisations.
The second phase will be a small pilot survey of around 450 third sector
organisations, to take forward and evaluate an agreed shortlist of
measures, sampling registers and data collection methods.
Given the nature of the brief, we expect to appoint a multidisciplinary
research team, with expertise in the following areas:
-
the third sector
-
local government performance
-
question development and testing
-
sampling and survey design, and analysis of quantitative survey data
-
the ability to work as a team and with an advisory group and other
stakeholders
The deadline for proposals was Monday 13 August, and tender interviews
took place on Thursday 16 August.
