Giving

The Government has a long term commitment to foster a culture of planned regular and tax effective giving.

Through the strategy A Generous Society and working in partnership with HM Treasury and HM Revenue and Customs - the Office of the Third Sector supports a series of programmes to drive up levels of giving including through:

• Work with the charitable sector to promote tax effective giving, ensuring that organisations are able to benefit from the reliefs available
• Work with young people to instil a culure of giving from an early age
• Work to develop the evidence base

Promoting tax effective giving
