The Adventure Capital Fund was launched in December 2002 with the aim of delivering a new form of long-term investment into community enterprises. This is a unique partnership between Government departments, regional development agencies and leading players in the field of social and economic regeneration, all dedicated to the development of long-term, sustainable community-based enterprises.
The Fund aims to fill the investment gap that faces community enterprise organisations, and to increase investment-readiness of community organisations wishing to move to greater sustainability through enterprise.
The Adventure Capital Fund has backed community enterprises around the country by offering financial investment and expert support, and helped the enterprises to become stable and sustainable businesses.
The community enterprises it has helped include the Moss Side and Hulme Community Development Trust, the Hull Community Church, the Centre for Music and Arts Technology in Birmingham, and many others.
