Compact annual reviews

The operation and development of the Compact is reviewed every year at a meeting between ministers, local government and the third sector, represented by Compact Voice. At this meeting, key strategic priorities for the year ahead are agreed which form the basis of a joint action plan which is placed in the Houses of Parliament.

The tenth Compact annual review was held on 1 February 2010. The focus of the meeting was implementing the refreshed Compact, improving accountability, and finding ways to ensure the Compact is used to its full extent. Key strategic priorities were identified, and in due course will form the joint compact action plan for 2010. Previous joint action plans can be found below.

The Minister for the Third Sector, Angela Smith, was not able to attend the annual review this year. However, she addressed the meeting via a video message in which she agreed to answer any questions which delegates had for her.
