Improving The Prospects Of People Living In Areas Of Multiple Deprivation In England
Aims of the project
The aims of this project were:
- To review the progress that has been made in improving the prospects of people living in areas of multiple deprivation
- To consider whether the necessary conditions have been put in place to achieve the government's objectives for these areas
- To work up, as appropriate, options for improving the effectiveness of Government policies and programmes in raising the quality of life of people living in the most deprived neighbourhoods - including whether there is a case for greater targeting on the worst estates
The Strategy Unit and Neighbourhood Renewal Unit coordinated with other Government Departments to ensure that shared interests were emphasised and information combined to avoid replication.
