The Cabinet Office Race Equality Scheme has been replaced by a single equality scheme promoting race, disability and gender equality. The Cabinet Office has extended the principles of the equality duties to age, gender identity, religion / belief, and sexual orientation, and makes mention of these additional equality strands in the Scheme.

The Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000 requires that the Cabinet Office produce and publish specific employment data broken down by all racial groups. The purpose of the data is to enable the Department to assess progress being made in ensuring that no racial group is being adversely affected by any aspect of our employment policies and practices.
