Cabinet Office Strategy Board

Terms of reference

The role of the Cabinet Office Departmental Strategy Board is to provide strong leadership to the Department.

The Board's key responsibilities are:

1. to set:
   • the strategic direction for the department
   • its strategic priorities, high level objectives and targets.
2. to ensure:
   • the department has an effective departmental change programme and performance partnership
   • that there are satisfactory control mechanisms for the day to day management of the department.
3. in the light of the priorities, objectives and targets, and performance against them, to review:
   • the Departmental business plan
   • the overall allocation of resources
   • the handling of cross cutting issues
   • the delivery of Cabinet Office services.
