Publication Scheme
Part Three: Information Asset Register (IAR)
The 1999 White Paper on the Future Management of Crown Copyright announced
that the Government would create the Information Asset Register (IAR). The
IAR gives details of sources of unpublished government information
(‘assets’) that could be made available on request. Each IAR record
describes the individual asset, what it comprises and how you can access
copies.
Accessing the IAR
The Office of Public Sector Information's inforoute website allows you
to search the IAR for assets from all government departments. The Cabinet
Office IAR currently has 48 entries, which you can access through the
inforoute site. The IAR is complementary to this Publication Scheme.
Further information
For more information about the IAR see Guidance Note 18, on the Office of
Public Sector Information (OPSI) website.
