Information for candidates
Registration for new candidates closes on 31st October 2008
The standard route
All four standard paths have the same basic structure:
- Select the Core Competencies profile which most closely describes your role, from the Infosec competencies matrix.
- Add to each of the Core Competency descriptions some details that are specific to your role, to make them into a set of measurable Target Competencies relevant to you.
- Submit these to the Scheme: once we agree they look reasonable, you can register with the scheme and start learning.
You need to complete three levels of learning to achieve Certification:
- Attend an accredited induction course
- Attend an accredited practitioner course appropriate to your needs
- Undertake a work-based project, and report it in a 3500–5000 word dissertation
Until 31st December 2008 you have a choice to either submit either
From 1st January 2009 ITPC is only accepting Competencies annex form
Dissertation process (traditional method)
This must be submitted by 31st December 2008
To register, candidates must submit:
- Application form
- List of ITPC core competencies, with brief description of how you have met each one (in effect, a set of satisfied target competencies)
- CV outlining your experience implementing UK Government Information Assurance policy
- Letters from two supporters
Once registered, you may begin work on your work-based dissertation, which is the same as for the training route, ie a reasoned case of 3500 – 5000 words. After 31st December only the annex waiver form will be accepted.
