Description: Connexions undertake an annual census of the pathways taken by young people on reaching school leaving age.
Connexions is the government support service for all young people aged 13 to 19 in England. The service aims to provide integrated advice, guidance and access to personal development opportunities for this group and to help them make a smooth transition to adulthood and working life. All young people aged 13-19 can have access to a Connexions Personal Adviser (PA) who can coordinate access to education, employment, training and development opportunities as well as provide confidential advice and support with any health, social or domestic issues Connexions is being delivered through 47 local Partnerships.
A National Connexions Customer Information System (NCCIS) provides Management Information (MI) both for the Department for Education and Skills and Supporting Children and Young People''s Group (SCYPG) and for Connexions Partnerships.
An interface between the NCCIS and the various CCIS located within each Partnership allows the transfer of information between the two. This Draft XML schema describes the content and format of that annual census information.
The period of public consultation for this schema was set at 6 weeks, the closing date was 24th May 2006.
An updated version of the schema definition (MI Return from Connexions to NCCIS 20071.4) was added on 22nd March 2007.
