Course Title : Managing High Impact Weather

Who Should Attend

Emergency planners who wish to prepare for and understand the impact of severe weather.

 

Aim

To examine the impact of severe weather on emergency planning.

 

Objectives

By the end of this event you will be able to:

• Outline how a weather forecast is produced
• Describe the range of Met Office products that may assist the emergency planner
• Analyse the impacts of a given weather situation and how it affects emergency planning decisions
• Illustrate how forecasts can help responders manage the impacts of severe weather.

 

Pre-Requisites

Knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act (2004) is desirable.
