Course Title  :  Introduction to Civil Protection

Who Should Attend

Anyone who needs an introduction to the multi-agency approach to Integrated Emergency Management in the context of the Civil Contingencies Act (2004).

 

Aim

To provide an introduction to civil protection arrangements in the United Kingdom.

 

Objectives

By the end of this event you will be able to:

• Define the key duties under the Civil Contingencies Act (CCA) and its associated regulations
• Identify how the cultures of the various responders may impact the multi agency planning and response phases
• Explain the concept of Integrated Emergency Management
• Outline the most significant aspects of central, regional and local planning and response arrangements
• Describe the key considerations in relation to emergency risk management, emergency planning, information sharing, business continuity management and recovery.
