What is the Secure Voice and Data Implementation (SV&D Imp) project doing?

Enabling the commercial delivery across HMG of sovereign, standards–based, interoperable secure voice and data solutions to ensure that HMG has the IA capability required to protect its voice, data and multimedia communications.

Why do we need SV&D Imp?

The benefits of SV&D include

*Lead Department: The government department responsible for driving a procurement or acquisition opportunity through its life cycle on behalf of a collaborative group

**HAIPE: The High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor Interoperability Specification (HAIPE IS) is a standard developed in the United States for the encryption of enterprise internet protocol networks. It is based on the IPSec standard but adds high grade classified algorithms, key management and configuration options suitable for government and military use. The standard consists of a modular suite of core and optional extension features. The core features define interoperability capabilities while the extensions define additional contract and management capabilities. A device that implements the standard is known as a High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE). Devices that pass conformance and interoperability testing are entitled to display the trademarked HAIPE logo

***SCIP: SCIP is the Secure Communication Interoperability Protocol for voice and data transfer, originally over narrowband networks but more recently extending to IP. The best known example of SCIP equipment is the Sectéra secure phone.
