The Cabinet Office in common with other departments reports sick absence on a rolling 12 month basis. This approach ensures that each data set includes seasonal peaks and troughs. The use of the Average Working Days Lost (AWDL) indicator enables a like-for-like comparison with other government departments and private sector organisations.
