Chief Executive Cally Palmer said:
‘This is a great achievement for the Royal Marsden and it is down to the
hard work, commitment and skills of all our staff.
‘We strive to ensure all our patients receive the best possible care and
treatment.
‘The Annual Health Check performance assessment shows that we are
achieving our goals.’
The Healthcare Commission's Annual Health Check scores organisations in
the NHS on many aspects of their performance, including how well it manages
its finances (use of resources) and the quality of the services they
provide (quality of services).
These scores are based on a range of information gathered throughout the
year. This includes information about whether organisations in the NHS are
meeting the targets and standards set by the Government.
The Annual Health Check replaces the former ‘star rating’ assessment
system.
Cally Palmer said:
‘The Royal Marsden has consistently met all its performance targets and
this is a fantastic achievement by our staff in a challenging healthcare
environment.’
