Centre For Assessment
Our Background
Operating across the UK, Centre
for Assessment has a dedicated team of experienced professionals who will
ensure that your work with Charter Mark adds value to your organisation. We
would welcome the opportunity to work with you and support your objective
of achieving Charter Mark status. If you desire we can also meet your
assessment needs for other standards and models such as Investors in People
or ISO9001 as part of a coherent approach.
Our Assessment Process
We offer a high quality, value for money assessment service where Charter
Mark may be assessed on its own or in conjunction with other standards or
models.
Step One - Information / Quotation
Contact Synne (pronounced sea na) to discuss your requirements and receive
a no obligation quotation. We will send you a pack of information, which
contains our customer charter, terms & conditions and an application
form along with the quotation.
Step Two - Setting up the Assessment
Forward the application form to Synne to accept the quote and trigger the
assessment. Your assessor will contact you within three working days to
agree the date for the assessment, discuss the process and answer any
questions you have.
Step Three - Preparing for Assessment
We would encourage you to undertake
a self-assessment to help you establish your current position. Your
assessor will find it useful when preparing for assessment to:
-
Review your self-assessment to become familiar with your organisation
-
Look at key documents referred to in the self-assessment
-
Examine your structure / list of employees to determine who to speak to
Where it is cost effective to do so the assessor will review these
documents at your premises and develop a plan for the assessment with you.
The assessor will always agree the assessment plan with you prior to the
on-site visit.
Step Four - On-Site Assessment
Our assessors are approachable and will seek to work with you to find
evidence against the Standard. The assessor(s) will need to speak to a
range of people through the organisation, together with stakeholder and
customers to validate the results of your self-assessment. In order to do
this our assessor(s) will need a private room. Any non-conformities will be
agreed during the assessment. Should the Standard not be met the
re-assessment will be cost effective, focusing on how the gaps have been
addressed.
Step Five - Certification
Your assessment will be reviewed by an independent panel. They will
evaluate the assessment process and recommend whether certification is
appropriate. If successful, we will issue a Charter Mark certificate to
your organisation confirming that you have met the Standard.
Post Certification Options
Reviews
You are required to update Centre for Assessment by completing an annual
return and discussing progress over the phone with your assessor. Or you
may prefer an annual visit by your assessor to review your development
against the Standard.
Internal Review
If you want to achieve greater ownership of Charter Mark within your
organisation we can help you do this by developing a team of your people to
conduct self-assessment following a similar approach to an external
assessor. We will train and develop a group of your people to conduct a
self-assessment speaking to staff, customers and stakeholders so you can
clearly identify your own position against the Standard.
Sector experience
Through our experience of conducting over 1500 assessments per year for
Investors in People and ISO9001 we have gained experience of most sectors.
Whilst specific sector experience is not a prerequisite of a Charter Mark
assessor we will ensure that we provide an assessor who closely matches
your needs who is experienced and understands what good practice looks
like.
